Buddha and Bodhi

I began a new series of illustrations. Initially, I called them "Buddha and Cat", but that wasn't really what I meant.

You see, the cat, in the "...and Cat" part, is based on my cat Bodhi, who died two years ago.

Bodhisattva Kinkytail was my friend, and a friend I loved dearly. His name was chosen specifically as a Buddhist name.

In Buddhism, a Bodhisattva is a being who waives their chance at Nirvana until all living beings are enlightened. I think that describes my Bodhi a great deal, even though he loved murdering birds and rats, which was definitely a very un-Buddhist thing to do.

In any case, I introduce you to "Buddha and Bodhi", my new creation.
